Maybe you’ve wanted to learn to fence since you first saw Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone cross swords for the good of the people in Robin Hood. Or maybe since Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones turned viewers on in The Mask of Zorro. Or maybe you’ve just heard about fencing as a great way to not only stay fit, but also build poise and grace. Now’s your chance to find out if the art of fencing is for you. On Friday afternoons, the experienced staff of the Manhattan Fencing Center, who fielded the 2008 Olympic Silver Medal team, offer free lessons at Bryant Park. No prior experience needed and equipment is provided.
