It must be something in the tea that makes the British such wickedly good comedians. Tonight, catch two fine examples right here in the city. First, Simon Amstellbrings his show Do Nothing to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres UCBT U.K. Invasion series (The Sunday Times calls Amstell as close as you can get to a man emotionally and philosophically disemboweling himself onstage). Over at Webster Hall, catch the triumphant return of the British Comedy Invasion, two nights of improv by the legendary Stephen Frost (of Whose Line Is It Anyway?) as well as comedians Andy Smart, Steve Steen, and Richard Vranch. When the show was in town earlier this summer, Mike Myers and Eddie Izzard made surprise appearancesso you never know who might drop by. Simon Amstell, at 8, Upright Citizens Brigade, 307 West 26th Street, 212-366-9176, $5; British Comedy Invasion, tonight and Friday at 7, Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street, 212-353-1600, $25
