Furry critters star in David Sedaris’s new collection
Bestselling humorist David Sedaris (Me Talk Pretty One Day, Barrel Fever) has long written about the intimate details of his personal life, from his relationship with his partner in Paris to having adventures with his equally famous sister, Amy. However, for his latest collection, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, Sedaris has turned to the animal world for inspiration, writing witty tales about anthropomorphic critters who struggle with the same everyday troubles we humans do. Tonight, hear Sedaris read from this menagerie of tales, which include barnyard animals playing Secret Santa, a cat suffering through his prison-mandated AA meetings, and a female chipmunk who must decide whether it’s safe to fall in love with a cute boy squirrel, even though he’s an outsider to her group.
