THANKSGIVING BLUES

Memories of a bitter 2000

Although this was a sobering Election Day for Democrats, Obie-winning writer/performer Lisa Kron reminds us that things could be so much worse. Her new play, In the Wake, takes us back to the turmoil of Thanksgiving 2000 when the presidential election was still undecided. The story concerns Ellen, a liberal journalist who feels alone in her understanding of how terrible the situation is, and her family and friends who think she’s getting all worked up to avoid her own romantic troubles. Leigh Silverman, who staged Kron’s autobiographical play Wellon Broadway, directs.
Tuesdays, Sundays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 19. Continues through Nov. 21, 2010
