Wanda

Dir. Barbara Loden (1970).  In her one and only directorial effort, Barbara Loden rewrote Bonnie and Clyde as a truly dark and deadpan comedy of lumpen life in an industrial wasteland. A road movie at once absurd and feminist, Wanda also takes on elements of psychodrama, with Loden herself playing the hapless, eponymous heroine. Sofia Coppola is schedule to introduce.
