The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, which debuted in 1984, has grown to become one of the most popular epic fantasy series in the world, selling more than 40 million copies. But when Jordan died in 2007, he had yet to complete the final 12th book. Enter Brandon Sanderson, fantasy writer of the Mistbornseries and Wheel of Time buff, who took Jordan’s notes and decided there was enough material to turn them into not just one, but three more books. Tonight, Sanderson along with Harriet McDougal, the widow and long-time editor of Jordan who hired Sanderson to finish the job, discuss the publication of the series’ 13th and penultimate book Towers of Midnight.
