In 2008, GQ named Uwe Boll the “Worst Director Ever,” mainly because three of his video-game-adapted films (House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, and Alone in the Dark) sucked really bad (see IMDb’s “Bottom 100” list). Did Boll deserve this title, or is every video-game movie doomed? All we can say is, if Jake Gyllenhaal (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) can’t do the genre justice, then who can?
