BEYOND TOFURKEY

Turkey day goes to veggie heaven

The parade is over, the family is here, and the table is lavished with turkey, ham, gravy, corn pudding with bacon, buttermilk mashed potatoes, and pies with fresh cream. What's a self-respecting vegan or vegetarian to do? This year, two top-notch vegetarian establishments aren’t leaving anyone hungry. Veggie haven Foodswingsin Williamsburg is offering a three-course meal featuring cornbread, biscuits, empanadas, roasted butternut-squash soup, caramelized brussel sprouts, stuffed acorn squash, roasted beet salad, individual Dutch-apple pies, and warm apple cider for $40 per person.
