It's a shame that this brainy, sweet-voiced Brit has never recaptured the peak of his 2000 debut, The Hour of Bewilderbeast. Factors: the fickle press doesn't see him as a flavor of the month, but he also took some time off for health problems and homesickness. His new record is his best one in years--it grows on you, surprises you at times, and ultimately reminds you why he was such a big deal in the first place and why he should be again.
