Nada Surf+My Teenage Stride+Palomar

This benefit for Little Kids Rock, a foundation that provides musical instruments to underfunded school districts, features a wide array of New York-based indie performers. Alt-era survivors Nada Surf usually play pastoral, quasi-feel-good rock and penned the high-school outsider anthem "Popular," but they will play an acoustic set tonight. My Teenage Stride won't touch light, acoustic music, and instead will offer their take on post-Nuggets psychedelic rock. Three-quarters female Palomar follow Nada Surf's lead with brooding indie rock. And comedian Eugene Mirman's main instrument is just cynicism.
