Ethan Hawke, who last directed a revival of Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mindfor the New Group, now takes the stage for the Tony-winning theater company (Avenue Q) in Blood From a Stone. The darkly comic work stars Hawke as a son who returns home to his working-class family in Connecticut only to be caught up in the seemingly insurmountable troubles tearing his once close-knit parents and siblings apart. Scott Elliott (who last directed The Kidbased on the Dan Savage book) stages the Off-Broadway debut by playwright Tommy Nohilly, a former marine and actor in the Sundance Festival winner The Believer. Natasha Lyonne, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Gordon Clapp, Ann Dowd, and Thomas Guiry are in the cast.
