Bert Jansch

Neil Young has confessed to taking a few plays directly from British folk guitarist Bert Jansch's playbook--see how he jiggered Jansch's "Needle of Death" into "The Needle and the Damage Done" on 1972's Harvest. So it must have come as a disappointment when Jansch had to bow out of their joint tour earlier this year. He comes over the pond far too infrequently, but thankfully, he's back to headline a batch of shows. The last time he was in New York, he drew on his own songbook as well as classics such as "Blackwater Side" and "Katie Cruel," and tonight should be no less entrancing. With Pegi Young.
