It’s the holidays—time to curl up with a dispiriting violin song cycle! Cornelius Duffalo, violist for avant-garde group ETHEL, collaborates with composer Corey Dargel for “Every Day Is the Same Day,” a morose set about clinical depression. This appears to be quite different from Duffalo’s 2009 electro-acoustic debut, the bright Dream Streets, but he promises that this new seasonal affective ouvre will be witty. We’ll be packing spiked eggnog regardless.
