At the Passover seder, one asks, “Why is this night different from all other nights?” That won’t be difficult to answer at Matthew Lopez’s singular play, staged by MTC. It concerns a Jewish confederate soldier who returns from the Civil War to prepare a seder with two of his former slaves. Director Doug Hughes hides the matzoh.
