The immortal Joan Rivers (whose documentary was just featured at Sundance) and the charming Michael Urie (the Ugly Betty costar who’s amazing in The Temperamentals) hosted a party at 230-Fifth last night to celebrate my 25th anniversary at the Voice!
How to explain this incredibly long tenure when I look so young? Well, my column was originally caled “La Dolce Fetus”!
Anyway, also in attendance: Countess LuAnn DeLesseps, Ronnie Spector, Jane Velez-Mitchell, Sahara Davenport, Robert Verdi, Jack Mackenroth, Orfeh, the Blonds–oh, I could go on.
Also every club kid, drag queen, and entertainment writer in town, especially the gay ones.
Oh, and I wore a snazzy new Simon Spurr suit that was clean!
And I got to sing that famous “Get Happy/Happy Days…” duet with Judy impersonator Tommy Femia.
Also performing were Murray Hill, Bridget Everett, Dirty Martini, Vodka Stinger, and Talulah DeBayous, and they were all amazing!
People arrived in everything from limos to Access-a-Rides.
Chip Duckett promoted the event.
Here are some photos to prove how marvy it all was.
