Yes, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a holiday that makes winter a little more bearable. But its really a day for remembrance and reflection on how far weve come as a country and how much work still needs to be done to fulfill Kings dream. Today, take time to head over to BAM where theyll be hosting the 25th annual tribute to King: Come Share the Dream. The free celebration features a keynote address by novelist Walter Mosley, music by the Persuasions and the Reverend Timothy Wright Memorial Choir, and the community art exhibition Picture the Dream. Also today, at 1, will be a free screening of the award-winning documentary Neshoba: The Price of Freedom, about the people of Neshoba County, Mississippi, still divided 40 years after three civil rights workers (an African-American from Mississippi and two Jews from New York) were murdered there.
