The royal shaft is when Blue Valentine doesn't even get nominated for Best Picture. It's easily the finest American film of the last few years.
And let's go from Oscar to Oscar Wilde and note that a surefire Tony contender is Brian Bedford, who's in drag in The Importance of Being Earnest (though he'll still be eligible for Best Actor, I'm quite certain). Bedford is so dryly hilarious as Lady Bracknell that they should write him into Act Two. And you never think twice about his being a man. He actually plays it like less of a drag queen than most women have! Multiple personalities, huh?

Totally Agree with you Keating. The SAG nomination's for Swank was a Fluke. They were trying to get back to Bening. If Oscars follows them it only means Oscar is worthless. There are so much better performance better than SWANK. If there will be a surprise, it should be Tilda Swinton.
The scary thing is that we have a number of matriarchal crime families (after dad got sent to the big house or rubbed out) here in Australia and Jackie was a toned down representation of the real thing.
