Lincoln Center’s American Songbook Series gets an ethereal assist from Shara Worden, multi-instrumentalist of chamber/opera/rock outfit My Brightest Diamond. Stomping these boards seems the fulfillment of a long-held fantasy, as the formally trained singer once aspired to a life in the opera: “This show feels like coming to Lincoln Center, but coming in my own way, a wandering and sometimes dizzying path,” she muses on her blog. The evening is split between MBD familiars and her new experimental works for classical ensemble yMusic; her enthusiasm should bridge the divide.
