UNDEAD AND UNDRESSED

Burlesque show books it

Sometimes you have to go to extreme measures to get a bookworm’s attention. Stripping should do it, according to Inbred Hybrid Collective, the producers behind the five-year-running Book Club Burlesque. For tonight’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Strippers!, a bevy of circus acts, drag queens, musicians, and, well, strippers, take the stage to deconstruct the New York Times bestseller, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a flesh-eating parody of Jane Austen’s famous romance. Audiences are urged to have read the book before seeing the show—to lessen the shock of seeing naked reanimated corpses, we suppose.
