Heard from most recently covering Depeche Mode’s “Strangelove” in a sexed-up Gucci spot, Friendly Fires are currently at work on the follow-up to their self-titled 2008 debut, which earned the U.K. dance-rock act a buzz-building nomination for England’s prestigious Mercury Prize. (On their website a few months ago, the Fires mentioned a collaboration with the Harlem Gospel Choir.) Before they wrap, they’re hitting the road for a handful of dates in the U.S. and Australia; seems safe to expect a preview—as well as that DM tune—tonight. With the Hundred in the Hands, a boy-girl Brooklyn duo with a sleek synth-pop sound.
