Neko Case
A few days after this concert, which supports alt-country crooner Neko Case's excellent Middle Cyclone album, the singer is auctioning off the 1967 Mercury Cougar featured on the Cyclonealbum cover through her website. (Other prizes include a drum head signed by her and her bandmates in the New Pornographers and dinner for 10 at Chipotle.) While this act is charitable--as proceeds benefit the 826 National organization, which helps grade-school students with creative writing--this auction could mean she's finally ready to move on from Cyclone, her most successful album, which charted at No. 3. With Lost in the Trees.
