High school prom, the first time around, was such a letdown (wrong date, wrong slow dance, wrong after-hours). So imagine having the chance to do it again—the right way. My So-Called Prom is your one chance at gaining some of the dignity you lost on the dance floor, not to mention that hideous fuchsia, ruffly thing you wore. This prom is ’90s-inspired, which means no outdated tuxes, but instead flannels, ripped jeans, and your dirty Chucks for a “Smells Like Teen Spirit” look. The Bayside Tigers will be performing two cover sets with songs by Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and Pearl Jam, and count on DJ irockiroll to keep you on your toes all night. Just don’t do the cabbage patch.
