It may seem a little gimmicky at first, but having the frontman for local indie-pop outfit Francis and the Lights deliver a solo set using only a piano and a drum machine is actually a very good idea. Let's hope the latter instrument is a cheap piece of junk left over from 1986, because even though the group typically performs with two flesh-and-blood drummers, the strongest parts of last year's It'll Be Better were the bits that shamelessly channeled '80s-era Phil Collins.
