ARMY OF MANY

What's hanging above your sofa?

If you've missed out on the oodles of art-show openings this year, or have been out of the art-world loop, don't fret—the 13th annual Armory Show, which started Thursday, is your one-two punch for all things art. Once again, the Armory Show presents “Armory Arts Week,” a series of public programming taking place in a different neighborhood each night. The events include special receptions, open studios, art tours, museum discounts, performances, panels, artist discussions, and parties. Of course the big draw is the Armory Show itself, which features the most important artworks of the 20th and 21st centuries from the world's leading galleries. Another big highlight will be the show's focus on Latin American art, featuring galleries from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. And don't forget to stop by Volta NY, the Armory Show's sister fair at 7W (7 West 34th Street), for a collection of edgy solo projects.
