More About
Though Mark Rappaport's films were often inspired by pop culture, they themselves never found ubiquity. Though critically acclaimed, the Brooklynite's film features, which he released sporadically throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s, are today all but forgotten. They include his first film, Casual Relations, which is a string of barely connected scenes (one shows a woman watching television for seven minutes). His later work includes two postmortem monologues, Rock Hudson's Home Moviesand From the Journals of Jean Seberg. Catch theseand all but one of his filmsin the week-long retrospective The Films of Mark Rappaport.
