But for xenophile Emile Delilah, the main character of cartoonist Ben Katchor's new graphic novel The Cardboard Valise, the best part of traveling is feeling completely out of place with his surroundings (or, as his shrink says, he has a morbid love for every nation but his own"). Tonight, Katchorthe first cartoonist to ever win a MacArthur Genius" Grant and whose musical theater works include the Obie-winning comic-book opera The Carbon Copy Buildingwill share Emile's many adventures in the fantastical land of Outer Canthus.
