Rock Hudson's Home Movies

Dir. Mark Rappaport (1992). Mark Rappaport rereads the Rock Hudson text (taking moments from Hudson vehicles that, in one way or another, confirm or deny—and thus reconfirm—the actor's concealed homosexuality). Addressing the medium no less than the actor, the movie is an act of criticism… and love, investing the image “Rock Hudson” with a pathos only barely evident in Hudson's original imitation of life.
