If you like being able to see all varieties of art, dance, theater, and film downtown (and not, say, on Staten Island), now is the time to come out and support the scene during the second annual Spring Downtown Festival. Presented by the Lower Manhattan Arts League, which was formed by 11 New York City arts institutions in response to drastic cuts in funding in 2009, the festival presents an array of exciting new works through May. Events include the Flea Theater’s music series “Music With a View 2011,” Blue Coyote Theater’s “Open Access: Plays in Progress,” and Dance New Amsterdam’s “50collectiVe Workshop.” Tonight, don’t miss the “Spring Fling,” a free kick-off party, with drinks and performances from all of the league’s members.
Mon., March 21, 6 p.m., 2011
