James Taylor

Four decades after he first played Carnegie Hall (at age 22), folk legend James Taylor leads a gala celebration of the music venue's 120-year history. The hefty price tag may be worth it, though, if only to see Taylor's guests--including Steve Martin, Bette Midler, Kevin Pollak, Dianne Reeves, and, uh, Sting--attempt to test the venue's acoustics. If this blowout isn't enough, check Carnegie Hall's calendar for Taylor's three more programs scheduled through early May, including one on his musical roots, a conversation about guitar playing, and "The Quintessential James Taylor and His Band."
