One of the Unsound Festival's more ambitious billings: analog synth enthusiasts, horror soundtrack fans, and noiseniks (not that those are a very disparate bunch) will all have reason to rejoice tonight. If you've ever had your pulse race to a John Carpenter movie, you've got Howarth to thank; he deployed his keyboards for numerous 80s soundtracks. His set will dovetail into the cosmic circuit-elevating of Cleveland's Emeralds, who haven't performed in New York in a spell. And then a real Cosmic Joker, Harald Grosskopf, will make his U.S. premiere, performing his recently reissued Synthesistin its entirety with the likes of ARP, James Ferraro, and Blondes helping to levitate the room.
