The Great Dictator

Dir. Charles Chaplin (1940). Chaplin goes one-on-one with his most sinister impersonator in this only intermittently effective political burlesque. Intentions count for something however—released after the Hitler-Stalin Pact, it’s still among the classics of Popular Front anti-fascism.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Starts: April 13. Continues through April 15, 2011
