Jowe Head & the Extremities

From the early '70s through 1980, he played in avant-garde rockers Swell Maps, who provided the blueprint for post-punk and, later, alternative rock. In 1984, he joined up with post-punks Television Personalities, who would influence Nirvana and Pavement, right as the band moved from post-punk and started doing left-of-center, lo-fi pop music before it became popular in the late '90s. Last year, Head released an album of quirky psychedelic pop titled Diabolical Liberties. Who knows what that will foreshadow? With German Measles and McDonalds.
