Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon plays a special solo set tonight with as-yet-unnamed guests as part of a series of shows booked by her husband, vocalist/guitarist/bandmate Thurston Moore. Outside of SY, Gordon has recorded with alt-rockers Free Kitten and no-wave drummer Ikue Mori, so it's difficult to predict what anyone can expect here. Add to that the fact that this is also part of Moore's Ecstatic Peace! label showcase, which puts out a mix of sometimes avant-garde indie folk and rock, and the artistic director at the Stone is John Zorn. This will be a big surprise all around.
