Lukas Ligeti & Hypercolor+Arrington De Dionyso's Malaikat dan Singa

Recorded at a Vienna festival in 1999, Lukas Ligeti's new Pattern Time is an unusually articulate hybrid of jazz, modern-classical, and African ideas. Tonight, though, Ligeti makes a rare appearance with his surprisingly scrappy rock trio Hypercolor, which includes the tightly twisted guitarist Eyal Maoz and the excellent acoustic bassist James Ilgenfritz. Arrington De Dionyso runs the voodoo down, in Indonesian, with a trance-rock exorcism--during the course of which he'll probably strip down to his skivvies.
