A street party close to home
With the ever-changing storefronts on the Lower East Side, it's always comforting to know that the faces are still the same. Much of the artist community in LES has strong ties to the Theater for the New City, and for the past 16 years they've been inviting visitors near and far to take in this neighborhood, these people, and the arts created here with the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts. Take in performance art, poetry readings, theater, dance, music, and films, including a screening of The Limits of Controlby one of the coolest filmmakers in the nabe: Jim Jarmusch.
