IT'S ALIVE!

This jazz festival is a monster

How can you tell if a music festival is truly doing its job? Check the amount of hair on the floor. Fans tear it out when programming options are so superb that scheduling conflicts cause mega-quandaries. There's likely to be a bald pate or two at this year's Undead Jazz Festival. Doubling the number of days, and substantially increasing the artist count, the bash's second edition ups the ante on lots of levels, including new 'hoods, new venues, and new faces. Must-sees include Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog, Andrew D'Angelo's Big Band, Matt Wilson's solo stomp, and Harris Eisenstadt's Canada Day. From Bleeckerville to Williamsburg to that Gowanus skate park, the competition for your attention will be fierce.
