More About

Watching clips of Ryan Trecartin's movies Trill-ogy Comp, a trilogy, and Re'Search Wait'S, a quartet, is not unlike witnessing the cast of Cirque du Soleil high on crack. The works, described as "frenetic formal experimentations," are part of Any Ever, Trecartin's first major museum exhibition at MOMA PS1. Of course, the Los Angeles–based 30-year-old from Ohio isn't a stranger to exhibiting on a grand scale—his work, much of it inspired by Cindy Sherman, was seen in the New Museum's "The Generational: Younger Than Jesus," ICA in Philadelphia's "Queer Voices," the Whitney Biennial in 2006, and others. But at this show you can fully immerse yourself in Trecartin's bizarro world as each film is shown in its own oddly decorated room with random furniture and benches to lounge on. This mind-bending show is now in its final weeks at MOMA P.S.1. Catch it while you can.
