What’s better than taking the good ol’ bicycle for a nice ride in Brooklyn? Using alcohol as your fuel. OK, OK, we kid . . . sort of. The Bike Brooklyn Beer Blitz isn’t simply a tour that is BYOBike, but a ride in which you’ll actually learn about historical Brooklyn breweries. For four hours, your tour guide will take you through Williamsburg, East Williamsburg, and Bushwick, visiting brewery buildings dating back to the 1880s—or at least see where they used to be by comparing the current site with vintage photographs from the ’70s. The tour will end at Evergreen Cemetery on the Brooklyn/Queens border, where many of the brewers are buried, with a “surprise” awaiting you. Possibly a drinkable surprise? Who knows? But please be safe and wear your helmets!
