More About

For the 10th anniversary of 9/11, British literary magazine Grantahas dedicated its new issue, themed "Ten Years Later," to stories that explore how the world has changed since that tragic day. Join Grantaeditor John Freeman tonight for the discussion Islamophobia, the Media, and Echoes of 9/11, a look at the anti-Muslim backlash, media rhetoric, and how our memories of 9/11 have changed with the passing of time. The panel includes journalist Todd Gitlin, law professor Lawrence Joseph, and civil rights attorney Alia Malek (author of Patriot Acts: Narratives of Post-9/11 Injustice). The event is presented in association with South Asian Journalists Association and Voice of Witness, the nonprofit division of McSweeney's Books.
Wed., Sept. 7, 5 p.m., 2011
