Not to be confused with the Drake-endorsed avant-r&b act with which they almost share a name, San Francisco's Weekendhit town for two shows just ahead of a new EP that clears away some of the noise-goth fuzz from the band's buzzy 2010 debut, Sports. ("Hazel," the EP's winsome Internet single, conjures up welcome memories of Velocity Girl in their "My Forgotten Favorite" days.) They share the stage at Glasslands tonight and at the Mercury Lounge Sunday with Brooklyn's Talk Normal, whose clanky 2009 effort, Sugarland, is not to be confused with work by the country duo with which it exactly shares a name.
