The cliché-crushing saxophonist had a health scare while gigging in Australia at the start of the summer, but he must have done some quick mending, because theres no half-stepping when sharing lines with Polish trumpeter Stanko. Both have a yen for rounded notes that glow, as long as theres a dash of bop zigzag stirred into the mix. Thats where the rhythm section comes in, and this week its a dilly.
