It seems that everybody worth their cabaret sugar and spice has to get around to a Stephen Sondheim retrospective. Now it’s her turn. Among the renowned ditties the tall drink of sparkling water expects to chant is “The Ballad of Lucy and Jessie.” Who knows, maybe she’s included it as an audition to replace Jan Maxwell in the hot-hot Follies revival when that never-miss miss plays out her contract. The red-haired, high-cheeked entertainer certainly looks right for the role. As usual, the deft Don Rebic is at the 88’s.
Tuesdays-Thursdays, 8:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8:30 & 11 p.m. Starts: Sept. 27. Continues through Oct. 29, 2011
