Anne Waldman performs The Iovis Trilogy

Wednesday, September 21, at the Rubin Museum of Art

This "monumental feminist epic" is the most recent of over 40 books of poetry by Anne Waldman, the New York School poet who has been a countercultural presence in Greenwich Village since the Beat Generation. The book consists of a single 1,000-page-long poem that handles themes of political activism, friendship, motherhood, and Buddhist principles. The performance will include musical accompaniment by cellist Ha-Yang Kim and soundscapes by Waldman's son Ambrose Bye.
