Mike Edison's Fourth Annual Banned Book Party

Wednesday, September 28, at 7 p.m., at Housing Works Bookstore

"Learn the evils of censorship that are attacking you right now!" says the flyer for Mike Edison's Fourth Annual Banned Book Party. In honor of the American Library Association's "Banned Book Week," Edison, the former publisher of High Times, hosts a night with live music, special guests (including indie-book publisher Richard Nash and former prostitute and ex-schoolteacher Melissa Petro), and a chance to win prizes in the "Name That Banned Book" contest.

Housing Works Bookstore, 126 Crosby Street, 212-334-3324, housingworks.org
