But love Lekman we do, a cult obsession unlikely to dim with last month’s release of the singer’s excellent new EP, An Argument With Myself, which leads with a Paul Simon–ish title track that absolutely lives up to its premise: “Fuck you,” Lekman sings over bubbling Afropop guitars, “No, you—fuck you!” This weekend, he caps a brief U.S. tour with a three-night Brooklyn stand sure to be packed with people bearing notebooks. Hyperbole will ensue.
