Three decades after an accordion-driven Queen sendup titled “Another One Rides the Bus” introduced the world to “Weird Al” Yankovic, the master of polka and parody continues releasing records like this year’s Alpocalypse, which takes lighthearted jabs at—among others—Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and, uh, Craigslist. But the visual domain is where the Curly Haired One, who turns 52 today, shines brightest, and in concert he hauls out videos of Bieber and Forest Gump to supplement his surprisingly nimble high kicks and fleet-fingered accordion shredding. If anything remains true of the onetime UHF star, it’s that after all these years, he and his cohorts still don’t need no stinking badgers.
