New York certainly has its share of alt-comedy greats, but one funnyman we wish we could see more often is the L.A.-based Paul F. Tompkins, an alum of Mr. Show, the star of four Comedy Central specials, and just an all-around swell storyteller. But this week brings big excitement for P.F.T. fans in New York (especially to all those on the “Bring Paul F. Tompkins to New York City” Facebook page): Tompkins will be at the Bell House not one, not two, but three times. On Thursday, he’ll be appearing as a part of Julie Klausner’s live podcast “How Was Your Week?” and on Saturday and tonight, he’ll be performing solo shows with different material each night.
