More About

Reverend Jen Miller, the self-proclaimed Patron Saint of the Uncool, celebrates the release of her third book, Elf Girl: A Memoir, tonight at Bowery Poetry Club, the current home of her monthly Anti-Slam. In keeping with her usual desire to defy the cultural norms of NYC’s art scene, Miller promises penis cupcakes, an ass-clapping contest, a burlesque show, several musical performances, an hour-long open mic, and male and female elf-eared go-go dancers, along with a short reading from her book. Elf Girl (the title references the pointed plastic ear extensions Miller wears daily) is a collection of true stories from her zany, eventful life, chronicling her grade school loserdom, art-school struggles, and rise to “celebutante” status on the Lower East Side.
