More About

Electric Literature’s luridly awesome cover art, fresh story choices from both established authors and emerging writers, and sly decision to go straight to Kindles and iPads and only print hard copies on demand has garnered it considerable success compared to your average indie lit mag. Tonight, they host November’s installment of the monthly Franklin Park Reading Series at Franklin Park Bar and Beer Garden. Novelist and short-story writer Jim Shepard (You Think That’s Bad) and Colson Whitehead, who has just published Zone One, a tongue-in-cheek post-apocalyptic zombie novel, will read along with other former contributors to the magazine. After the reading, dance to playlists put together by Electric Literature authors, or pretend it’s not cold outside and frolic in the beer garden. Several animated shorts will be screened throughout the night.
Mon., Nov. 14, 8 p.m., 2011
