A quick look at last year’s Pazz & Jop results confirms that I was alone among my critical peers in naming Josh Groban’s Illuminations as one of 2010’s best albums. But it really is good! (Even people morally opposed to pop-classical fare should be able to appreciate the bombastic beauty of “L’Ora Dell’Addio.”) And now that the weather’s cooling, there’s a healthy chance Groban will bust out some of the Christmas tunes from his bazillion-selling Noël.
